Have extender and can not connect it to my account in the tp link app
I bought the extender but my ex set it up when we were together and he is not willing to give me the info to login and he keeps messing with my internet though the extender. What can I do. I made an account and want to move it to mine.

Hi,
To prevent the other person from accessing your RE705X you could do the following.
Reset the RE705X by pressing the little "Reset" button
Then connect to the wireless network named "TP-Link_Extender" that should appear after a minute or two.
Then open a web browser and enter the address http://192.168.0.254 and set a new password of your own choice.
After that you need to setup the RE705X from again (i.e. connect it to your Wi-Fi router) just like if it was brand new.
I am not certain whether the RE705X will allow you to bind it to your TP-Link account, but you can try.

Hi @ajhansen,
If you can reset the device successfully, you can use the Tether APP with your own TP-Link ID to set up the extender again.
To keep power on, use a pin to press the reset button for 1 second to reset the extender.
In the Tether APP, click the "+" button at the upper right corner, select "Range Extender" and the Tether APP will guide you through the setup process. This is a step-by-step FAQ that contains more details:
