Model: Deco X50 - PoE
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.5 build 20231122 rel. 58711

Hello

I helped a friend install the network with the Topology shown below. I was virtually copying my own network, as I have the Deco X50s and they are working like a dream.

Unfortunately my friend is massively struggling and almost every day the decos can switch to red and then randomly start working again.

Initially we thought we had created a loop, but this is now the topology of the network. Some things seem to be performing better now, but the TV stopped connecting (even though it is connected by LAN into an 8 port switch).

Is this topology ok? Is there anything else I should be cautious or consider about the network or anything you think could be causing instability?

Also, his Network looks a lot different to mine, it is showing the satellite decos not connected by the ethernet back haul (living room is his main Deco).

Thanks in advance for any help :)

  @Alexandre.

Thansk for the link.

So the network is more stable now, so thinking the topology is correct.

But the satellite decos have 1 as wifi connection and the other as ethernet for the backbone.

We changed the one on WiFi to a different ethernet cable and different port on the switch. Then that now shows as connected via ethernet backbone and the other satellite is now showing as WiFi, it's as if they swapped (but we changed nothing relating to the other satellite deco).

Any ideas what is happening and how to resolve?

Thank you

I am afraid you did not read carefully the forum topic I provided.

The problem is between Main Deco and Vimin 16 port PoE siwtch. The wired link between them is broken. All symptoms point to it.

You should check what is with that wired link.

  @Alexandre.

Apologies, I did not not read that carefully,

Thanks for the advice, we will check the cables between the main deco and the switch and let you know.

  @Alexandre.

We got it working using the ethernet back haul.

We switched the cables from the 2.5Gbps WAN/LAN port to the 1Gbps PoE port around, and now it is working.

There seems to be some instability on the network still, which we are not sure what could be causing that. But we are going to monitor over the next few days and see if things settle down.

Thanks for you help, a step forward :)
