iPhone & iPad Unable to connect to WiFi Extender RE200

Both iPhone (iOS 18.3.1) & iPad (iOS 16.7.10) are both unable to connect to RE200 extender on 2.4GHz frequency.
They are both able to connect to the 5GHz frequency from the same router.
I get the same error message when attempting to connect to 2.4 "Unable to join the network".
The router l am using is not a TP-Link device.
The router has the same password for the two signals but slightly different SSID names for each frequency.
All other devices are able to connect to the 2.4 frequency.
The reason for needing the Apple devices to join the 2.4 frequency is that the 5GHz is too weak for a particular room that we use a lot in the house.
Thanks

Hi@Lee24J,
If you connect to the router's 2.4Ghz at a close distance, can it connect? Have you tested other devices? Can they connect to 2.4G normally?
Please compare the guest network of the router, or try to change the security type to WPA 3
Take TP-Link router as an example:

Hi @Joseph-TP
Thank you for your reply. For no reason l can think of as l haven't done anything the iPhone can connect to the extender on 2.4GHz. I will keep a record of your reply if it becomes a problem again.

Lee

Hi @Joseph-TP
My initial reply saying the problem had somehow resolved its self proved incorrect.
If l stand next to the extender my iPhone does not connect to the 2.4Ghz. Many other devices (not Apple) can connect to the 2.4Ghz signal from the extender with no problems.
What l find most confusing is that l have a second RE200 WiFi Extender and my iPhone connects to the 2.4Ghz signal without problem.
Look forward to some advice on how to resolve this issue.
Thanks

Hi @Lee24J,
It may be that Apple devices account for a higher proportion of traffic, and there are more clients connected to the first range extender.
Can you swap the positions of the range extenders to see if it is a problem with a specific position or a specific range extender?
