Hi Everyone,

WPA 4220 Kit

I have finally got a wi-fi signal from my extender, which is recognised by my tablet. The lights indicate that I have successfully cloned the unit. I thought "cloning" meant that the Password would be the same as the password for
my existing wireless network, but I cannot connect to the TP Link using that password, getting the message "authentication problem".

It is probably obvious to you that my technical knowledge is poor in this area, so I'd be very grateful for any help you can offer.

If so, you can just quit using wi-fi clone.

Please use the PowerlineScan utility to log into the management webpage of your WPA4220, then you can configure your extender's wireless settings manually.
Here is the download link of this utility:
http://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/?model=TL-WPA4220&version=V1#tbl_b

This link will help you configure your extender's wireless settings:

WPA-4220 WPS wifi link successful, but devices won't login
2014-11-13 20:46:41
I have a similar problem. The WPS cloning worked fine. I've since checked the WPA4220's SSID and PSk password over Ethernet cable through the disc utility and they are the same as my home router.

Problem: Devices recognise the remote adapter, but can't login. After a time (8-10 mins est) the Powerline light goes out on the remote and the adapter just has a very slow blinking top light.

I live in an old, complicated house (made of stone, hence the need for wifi extension). Is this due to complicated wiring perhaps?
Is there a way round it?

I have other routers, could I set up a separate network instead?

All advice gratefully received...Many thanks,
FMS

If you restart the adapter on remoste site, how about status of all lights?
Is it possible for you to test if it works when it is in the same room as the one connected to router?
