Hi,

I want to know the difference between WAN Port in Router and ADSL 2+ Port in ADSL router? How do they differ in terms of connectivity? Are both used as a bridge between ISP and Home network?

Can a router have both WAN Port as well as ADSL2+ Port?

Thank you,
Rahul Shah

There is a WAN port on TD-W8968 because it can work as router only with another modem.
If you use ADSL connection, actually, WAN/LAN port is a LAN port. You should plug telephone line to the ADSL port.
If there is a cable modem, you have to plug it into WAN/LAN port and configure TD-W8968 as a router. ADSL port is not used then.
We cannot use ADSL connection and cable connection at the same time.
