TD-W8980 Router. Unable to use SNMP
2014-11-07 22:52:16
Region : UnitedKingdom

Model : TD-W8980

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 0.6.0 1.7 v000e.0 Build 140701 Rel.41204n

ISP : Plusnet

Although I have enabled the SNMP option on the router I cannot get it to respond to a ping or an Interrogation from FrameFlow.

The IP address is in the same subnet as my PC e.g. 192.168.1.4 for the SNMP agent and 109.168.1.9 for the PC.

If I look at the ARP table in the router it does not show the Agents IP address ( 192.168.1.4).

Any one else experienced similar difficulties?

Any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Terry

Poor SNMP support

I get SNMP to work, but the support is rubbish. Using cacti with a raspberry pi to interrogate both my 8980 as well as my 8960N. In both cases the OID has not been implemented correctly, empty counters, counters with incorrect names etc. I guess that many do not bother to implement SNMP on a home setup, therefore there are no complaints and no focus on fixing it.

A shame really -- could be a big differentiator for TP-Link.

Only standard OID is supported by W8980.
