WR841N V8 slow download speeds

Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TL-WR841N
Hardware Version : V8
Firmware Version : 3.15.9
ISP : British Telecom (BT)
First post so greetings to all from Northern Ireland.
I currently have BT Infinifty (FTTC) broadband using a separate Openreach Modem and BT Home Hub 3 wireless router (Connected to each other by WAN) The wireless part of the router has an issue so I've replaced it with a WR841N V8 which has been updated to the latest available firmware 3.15.9.
The BT HH3 gave me consistent download speeds of 26-29Mbps wired & 24Mbps wireless. The TP-Link is giving me a consistent 9.5Mbps (Never over 10) wired & wireless. I've went back to the HH3 a few times (In case the ISP had throttled my line) but its still almost 30Mbps each time.
My desktop PC has two LAN ports, one on the Motherboard and a PCI adapter board port. Both produce the same download speed. Checking their set up both are set to 'Auto detect' and report a connection speed of 100Mbps. I've tried changing them to 100Mbps full Duplex (From Auto detect) but that doesn't help.
WAN connection type is set at PPPoE (I've done this more than once using auto detect and manually selected)
I'm stumped, hopefully someone will be able to help?
Regards.

Ok, your decision, after a few days give me information about your network stability. See you later!

Download speed issue
2015-11-14 05:34:18
Hello there, so Ill continue the thread :)
I have TP-WR841N V8.0 router, I have low download speeds, i.e. around 57 mbps, whereas upload is close to 90 mbps through wifi.
If I connect PC by wire to the router, I am getting 90+ mpbs (my internet is 100mbps both ways) uploads/downloads. So what might be the problem, and is it possible to solve that?
My PC wifi card is 43224AGN, the windows shows, that the link speed is 300 mbps (i.e. n and 40 Mhz bandwidth is used)
Kind regards

Low download speed
2015-11-14 05:50:42
Hello there,
Ill recover that thread, so my issue is also low download speed through wifi.
Router is TP-RW841N, v8.0. The download spend lands somewhere around 50 mbps, whereas upload is around 94 mbps (my internet is 100/100).
The speeds are fine, when I connect my pc through the cable, over 90 mbps.
So guys/girls, do you have any idea what is wrong and is it possible to fix it?
Kind regards
