Archer D2 DHCP Issues
Region : Sweden
Model : TD-W8901G
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version :
ISP : Telia
Hello,
I could not find the Archer D2 in the Model Number drop-down in any section of the forum, I'll provide a link to the product below.
Yesterday we installed the Archer D2, running the setup from the disk provided failed and returned an error message saying something like "Could not assign IP-adress". I proceeded to set the device up using the web interface. I had assigned a static IP to the computer while configuring the device and after I was completed I did not get any internet access despite beeing in the correct IP-range. When I configured the PC to use dynamic IP instead I would get Internet access but unable to access the LAN.
I did some troubleshooting and found that indeed the Archer does not assign IP-adresses even with DHCP enabled and configured. When I did an 'ipconfig /all' in cmd it says that the IP of the DHCP-server is the same as our public IP. I tried updating the firmware which did nothing.
As a temporary solution I set the printer's IP to be in the same range as the PC's assigned adresses so that it could be used for printing.
This is not the first time I've run into this problem, the first time was when installing a TP-link TD-W8901G. Because it's such a cheap device we simply had it replaced with another ADSL router of a different brand.
Does anyone know what could be causing this behaviour?
