Connectivity Issues WPA4220

Hi all!
Living Room = Router Zyxel NBG419N
Kitchen = WIFI Extender WPA4220
The Kitchen serves a Raspberry PI Music Box via WIFI controlled through Airplay.
Problem: Airplay is only randomly present/visible while I am in the kitchen. Hence I cannot control the PI Musicbox.
If I move to the living room, the PI Music Box in the kitchen becomes visible on my smartphone and can be controlled without issues.
I assume this has something to do with the TPLINK. Technical support told me to give the Airplay device a static IP (which it has) and set Channel Width to 20Mhz
Both do not solve the problem.
Any help is highly appreciated!
