8970 Internet not working

Firmware Version :
ISP : Airtel

I confirgured a new ADSL router 8970. While the setup showed completed with success the internet connection does not work.
The Internet light on the router does not come on or blink. Does anyone know how to fix this.
My old router works on the same connection so I know the issue is not with the ISP connection.
