Model: Archer BE550 Pro
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1

Hi guys, I purchased a new Archer BE550 router 2 weeks ago and since I've gotten it, it keeps crashing a few times a day, where if i power it down and back on it comes back up, but this is incredibly frustrating.

I have noticed a few times that the 2.4 or 5 ghz will go down first then the 6 ghz may go down 5-10 mins later.

I'm not sure if its something in the configuration that is causing this, however my previous router before this was pretty steady and rarely crashed.

This  can happen even if i'm not home, and i don't really have much connected to it when i'm not home.

When I am home I have 1 or 2 cell phones and an ipad and a laptop usually connected to the wifi.

I had read somewhere that changing the channel width may help, but i tried that and it didn't change much.

Any ideas?

Hello@dbelgi ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—Archer BE550 Pro—main deco )))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Is the wired connection stable? If only the wireless connection is unstable, please try:

    1) Make sure the Router is properly placed; it should be put in an open area instead of inside a cabinet or shelf.
    2) Change the wireless channel to another one. You may refer to
Changing Channel and Channel Width on a TP-Link Router (new logo).
    3) Change channel to avoid interference. For 2.4GHz wireless client devices, adjust the 2.4GHz channel width to 20MHz; for 5 GHz wireless client devices, adjust the 5GHz channel width to 80MHz or 40MHz, etc.
