I have a Virgin Media SuperHub (aka Netgear VMDG485) I want to use it in modem mode for various reasons.
So I now have a TP-Link TD-W8980 router.
I can use it perfectly ok with the SuperHub in router mode, the problem begins with putting the SuperHub into modem mode.

So I have set the SuperHub into modem mode it reboots and comes up with IP address 192.168.100.1.
Reconfigure W8980 router to use EWAN in Static IP mode with address 192.168.100.2 and gateway 192.168.100.1
LAN is reconfigured to use 192.168.0.1 address instead of previous 192.168.0.2 address (only because I don't want to reconfigure every other device on network).
The EWAN static IP address mode is the only mode where I get a connection on the EWAN port, Dynamic IP doesn't give anything, PPPoE wants login details which do not apply with the Virgin cable router.

Physical configuration is
'Cable'<->VMDG485<->W8980<->internal LAN
I can login into W8980 box on 192.168.0.1
I can login into VMDG485 on 192.168.100.1
I run the W9080 diagnostic tests which can Ping the gateway (192.168.100.1) and every other test:confused: else fails.
So I can talk from my PC via the W8980 to the VMDG485 and thats about it.

Any suggestions on what I have missed ?
:confused:
