Just purchased a brand new TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 v2 and it's dropping the connection randomly.

Since I've set up 3 days ago, it's dropped all internet connection randomly about 6-8 times. Wireless and wired connections all drop with no internet connection available. The wireless signals on both the 2.4 and 5 ghz are still visible though when I look at the available SSIDs from my Windows laptop, but trying to connect to them doesn't work and there is no internet on them either. I need to reboot the router for it to make internet available again.

I'm pretty sure that every time it's happened it's when I have one of my wired devices turned on. For instance this last time, it occurred as soon as I turned on my Boxee Box (a streamer similar to Roku that I have wired directly into the LAN port of the router).

Any idea what the problem could be? What other details can I provide that would help someone to ? Unfortunately when I log into the tplinkwifi.net and I look at System tools/System logs, there's no longer anything prior to the reboot of my router showing there.

Please help!

Hi, I am experiencing the same issue on a brand new Archer C7 :(:(:(:(:(










Firmware Version: 3.14.3 Build 150617 Rel.40547n
Hardware Version: Archer C7 v2 00000000


Every day it drops internet connection at least once. I can still see wifi SSID on all devices but it is impossible to connect.

i have checked firmware and it seems i have the latest version.
pls help!!!!!!

Does anyone know if this also happens with the C5? I want to buy a C5 or C7 but this issue scares me.

Same here... all computers using windows 10 in the house are experiencing problems to use the internet with Archer C7... they connect to the wifi, windows says they are connected to the internet but can't navigate.

I'm having the exact same issue. You can try changing the channel of both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, it worked for me for a few days and then the problem came back. Every morning when I wake up, I need to reset my modem, and generally any time I get home from work. This is really frustrating.

Better make sure your modem is in spec as this could be the issue. Most likely power levels may be wrong for upstream or downstream.

It seems I am not the only one with this problem:
1. I have a brand new C7 v2
2. It forks OK until the internet connection stops working on all devices
3. The routes status shows "connected" and I can see clients on the network (like my NAS).
4. The WIFI (both channels) seem to be working (cellular devices and tablets see the LAN network).
My unacceptable "solution" is Disconnect and Connect again. No need for router reboot.

Is there a known solution?

My C7 V1 started to drop the wi-fi on a daily basis. The TP-Link support suggested that I go to a previous firmware, so I did that and it would only drop 1 or 2 times a month. I then upgraded to the latest US firmware about 3 weeks ago and have had no dropouts since. If you're already on the latest firmware, then try rolling back to a previous version and see if that helps.

Maybe I'm one of the lucky few that has not had a problem with my C5 v1.2. It is on a UPS and never needs rebooting. If you decide on a C5, the chipset changed on the v2's.

Thanks. I actually ended up picking up a used C7 v1 locally before I read about all of the problems with the v1. I seem to have gotten really lucky though as I have had no problems with it so far.
