EasyMesh with BE550(EU) V2.0 and AX73(EU) V2.0 not working
Hello!
I am trying to set up the BE550 as the main router and the AX73 as satellite.
My BE550 is already working and providing internet access to WiFi and LAN clients.
I have switched the AX73 to satellite mode, also I have factory resetted the device but I am unable to add it to the mesh because the BE550 is not detecting it as a satellite router.
I have even upgraded the fw of the BE550 to the latest beta with the mesh enhancements, but no luck either.
The AX73 has a firmware version of 1.1.2 Build 20250210 rel.53421(4555).
What am I doing wrong?

Check EasyMesh is turned on for BE550 first
Then follow one of the instructions in link

Hi,
If you are attempting to connect the routers via Wi-Fi, then make sure they are not too far away from each other.
Also, once you've switched the AX73 to satellite mode or reset it to factory defaults, do not log into the AX73 again! Logging into the AX73 at this point would revert it back to normal Wireless Router mode.

Hi, This is so far what I have found out.
I have managed to successfully connect the 2 devices.
0. EasyMesh was enabled on the main BE550 (factory default).
1. I have factory reseted the AX73.
2. After the power LED stopped flashing I logged in, completed the quick setup, then switched the device to satellite mode.
3. Waited for the device power LED to stop flashing again.
4. Pressed WPS on the BE550. 1/3 of the LED string started to blink.
5. Pressed WPS on the AX73, LED started to blink.
6. After a period of time WPS LED on AX73 stopped blinking, and the BE550 WPS status LED stopped blinking aswell.
7. After some time the BE550 finished configuring the AX73, which rebooted.
8. There were no need to manually add the satellite mesh device to the main.
+1 connecting them with an ethernet cable through LAN ports changed the connection type to Wired on the management page of the main router.
Now im trying to figure it out how to make wired backhaul connection via a TP-LINK L2 managed switch work.

Good to hear you've got it set-up as a satellite now.
Now it's set-up as a satellite, you can now try moving the AX73 lan cable into it's WAN port, maybe help with the switch problem you having?

In case you ever need to redo the EasyMesh connection, then you can actually skip step 2. On currently available TP-Link EasyMesh routers, switching to Satellite Router mode via the user interface is the same as performing a factory reset.
As for the managed switch, I guess the least you'll need to do is to remove the two ports that connect to the BE550 and AX73 from any VLANs. (i.e. configure the two ports as untagged ports)

It is an SG3428, should include support for the IEEE 1905.1 control packets.
Both of the ports are parts of VLANs (10,20,30) but the port PVIDs are the same (1) and VLAN 1 is untagged for the ports.

Have you tried removing the two ports from the VLAN(s) completely? (i.e. don't select them as untagged or tagged)
