XE75 V1 Firmware Question – WAN/LAN Auto‑Sensing Bug
Thursday
Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.3 Build 20240926

Greetings everyone,

My home network setup is the following:

Main Deco: XE75 V1

Satellite Decos: 5× X55 V3 and 2× X50‑Outdoor V1

The main Deco restarts every night because both the modem and the Deco are connected to a scheduled smart plug. About an hour later, the Deco system also performs its own centralized reboot of all units. I know some people may consider this unnecessary, but based on my experience, the network performance is noticeably better with daily restarts. Unfortunately, the built‑in scheduled reboot alone is not sufficient for the XE75 V1.

However, I am experiencing an anomaly: there is roughly a 50–50% chance that after the restart, the main Deco reports No Internet and shows a red LED, even though the internet connection is actually working fine and all devices have access. I assume this issue is related to the WAN/LAN auto‑sensing bug.

I am currently using the latest official firmware for the XE75 V1: 1.4.3 Build 20240926

I found the beta firmware mentioned in the WAN/LAN auto‑sensing thread: 1.4.5 Build 20250107 Beta, which is supposed to fix this specific issue. I believe it might also resolve my problem.

I would like to ask a few questions:

  1. Does this beta firmware include only the WAN/LAN auto‑sensing fix, meaning it should be safe to install? Or should I expect possible instability due to limited testing?

  2. If I install the beta, will my current settings be preserved?

  3. When a new official firmware is released in the future, will I be able to update from the beta without issues? Will my settings remain intact after upgrading?

  4. If the beta causes problems, is downgrading to the previous official firmware possible?

  5. Since this beta was released quite some time ago, is there any expectation of a new full official firmware for the XE75 V1?

Thank you very much for your help and for answering my questions!

Hi,
"the main Deco reports "No Internet" and shows a red LED, even though the internet connection is actually working fine and all devices have access."
-This phenomenon is abnormal and hard to say if it's related to the WAN/LAN auto-sensing work machine. However, you can try the beta firmware "1.4.5 Build 20250107 Beta" if you'd like.

The beta firmware is safe to install, and your current settings are usually preserved after upgrading. Please note that after upgrading, the port used to connect the modem/internet cable on the main Deco is fixed, and the others are LAN ports. The fixed WAN port should be the top or bottom one; you can connect the port to the modem to confirm.

If a new official firmware is released in the future, you can update from the beta directly, and you can also downgrade from the beta firmware to the previous official firmware.

The Deco XE75 V1 is planned to support the fixed WAN port feature via firmware updates; however, we do not have information on when the new official firmware will be released. It's recommended to pay attention to firmware update notifications in the Deco app or to the firmware details on our official website.

Best Regards
