Model : TL-WR741ND

Hardware Version :

Firmware Version :

ISP :

Hello, I've had two TL-WR741ND from a friend, one is a V4.25 and the other is a V5. When I first logged in to them I was surprised that the device model on the top right of the web interface was "Model No.TL-WA7210N" instead of being the routers model. and in the "Firmware Upgrade" part of the web interface, it also has the same thing, "Hardware Version: WA7210N v2 00000000". I've tried to change the firmware with the correct on for the device, but I always get this message "Error code: 18005 Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name." I've tried to rename the file from "wr741nv4_en_3_17_0_up_boot(150119).bin" to "wa7210nv2_en_3_19_0_up_boot(140730).bin" but i still get the same error message. I've downloaded the firmware for the WA7210N device and tried to upload it to the WR741ND I have, and it did upgrade successfully! What I want is to change the firmware it currently has to the correct one.

I think there is a TL-WA7210N in your network, and you were not in the configuration page of TL-WR741ND but in the page of WA7210N, To be sure, you could have a try to disconnect all the other connections of your 741ND and only connect your computer to the LAN port of the router and then try to login again. If still, then the 7210N may connect to 741 by wireless, you could also have try to reset the router, and try.

Nope, I didn't login to the wrong device. the WR741ND has the WA7210N firmware instead of its original.
