Speed dropping over time on TD-W9970

After leaving my TD-W9970 router on for about a week my speed drops from 12mbps to about 3mbps. I don't think this is a network issue because as soon as i restart it the speed goes back up. I'm thinking it might be a firmware issue.
I have the latest firmware installed ( TD-W9970(EU)_V1_161111)
