TL-WA850RE slow speeds

I purchased a TL-WA850RE unit yesterday to help with a Wi Fi dead area in my house.
I did get it set up ok and there are "5 Bars" for signal strength but speeds are very low vs my Lynksys router that it is connected to.
Example Lynksys Wi Fi speed is currently at 20 MBPS and the Range extender is 520 KBPS with 5 bars of strength.
Suggestions?
