Archer T9UH Speed problems

Archer T9UH Speed problems

I just bought an Archer T9UH. I get a great connection speed (1gbps+ on 5ghz channel or 450mbps on 2.4ghz channel) but my actual download speed is never more than 8mbps. on my old intel 7260ac wireless card i could easy achieve 70mbps! I have a 100mbps package and my router is an Archer VR900v. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and making sure i have the latest one.
The adapter is plugged into a usb 3.0 socket.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
