Model: Archer T9UH
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Archer T9UH(EU)_V2_181023_Win

Archer T9UH AC1900 V2 is not negotiating 1.3Gbps on 5G wifi network.

Bandwidth wan- 1Gbps max

Router: TP-Link AX50 1000Mbps link speed wan speed.

Tested the adaptor on PC and laptop, from far to 30cm to the router. I tried a lot of configurations,  for the router and the adaptor. I tested the original driver and Microsoft's newer driver. In the best configuration, the internal WIFI of the laptop can negotiate 1.5Gbps, which was obtained only by setting the router's Channel Width to 160Mhz. In every configuration, wifi link speed using T9UH is 866Mbps.

I am out of ideas to test, please help, how can i get the 1.3Gbps link speed with the T9UH?

@ChrissTea Good day,

Thank you for your detailed post, the negotiated speed is limited at 866Mbps because T9UH need 3*3 MIMO to achieve 1300Mbps (3* 433Mbps)

AX50 is 2x 2 Mimo -> 11ax: 2*1200Mbps @160Mhz ;  11ac : 2* 866Mps @160Mhz  ; 11ac: 2*433Mbps @80Mhz

Archer T9UH is 3x3 Mimo for spatialstreams   -> 11ac: 3*433Mbps @80Mhz

So 866Mbps is the highest link speed that T9UH could negotiate with AX50.

@Solla-topee

Thank you for yoir quick answer. I looked at the specs for ax50 and t9uh, i could not see anything about the spatial waves or that the 4 antenas (wich both ax50 and t9uh have) are different for different protocols and cannot work together. Sorry i don't truly understand, but what should i look for in a router's specs so ot can have 3xmimo spacial waves so i can connect to 1.3 ghps?

The 2nd question is how does the laptop connect at 1.5Gbps? Its not ax protocol, it is ac.

Sorry for the probably stupid questions

@ChrissTea Hello,

Sorry for the late reply.  The MIMO info are from our internal spec,  you may also find them on some third party websites.
The number of MIMO is decided by device hardware, some higher end ax router supports more MIMO, for example, AX6000/AX73 supports 4*4 MIMO & 160Mhz on 5Ghz.
Besides 802.11ax protocol and the number of mimo, higher bandwidth also help boost the speed.

AX50 supports 160Mhz on 5Ghz while T9UH supports 80Mhz on 5Ghz. If your laptop could get 1.5Gb link speed, it may support 160Mhz& 2 MIMO on 5Ghz, so the speed is close to 1.7Gbps  2* 866Mps @160Mhz on 11ac.

If you want higher speed on T9UH, you could upgrade the router which supports more MIMO numbers on 5Ghz.

Or you could consider a 11ax wireless adapter which supports 160mhz to get faster speed on 5Ghz.
