Hey guys, i just built a new pc and bought a tp link wd4800 adapter. I just can't seem to make it work properly. The signal strength is fine as the router is only about 20 feet away and within view of the pc with no obstacles, but it has alot of trouble connecting to the network. And when it does connect, I get ridiculous speed, highest i've seen is around 1.4mbps while i get around 20-22mbps with a usb adapter i'm using for another computer. I've installed the latest drivers, the qualccom/atheros ones version 10.0.347 and it still doesn't fix any of the problems. Did i get a bad unit or there's something else i can try to fix things?

I'm on windows 10 pro 64bits by the way.

What's the operating system of this computer and the other one which is working? You may try exchange the wireless adapters on those 2 computers and check whether they will work on the other computer. Also can try change the wireless settings including channel, channel width on the router.

Sorry for the late reply but haven't had much time to play around with that lately. All my router's setting were on Auto so I thought they were fine that way but manualy choosing the channel seems to have fixed the problem, and heck i'm even getting better speed on my other computer now.
