djf8, I have had no issues with the current firmware except for what is mentioned in this thread (antivirus not sticking). I upgraded via the router downloading it, so will soon try the method...

Did you load your settings from a backup file after that or did you have to manually set everything up again?

Have you tried writing to TP-LINK support? I don't have that router, so I only know what your manual listed as an option.
