@DQJ999 I upgraded the firmware on the main unit that plugs in the router, reset the extender, and voilla it worked....perfect for about 20 minutes then the extender stopped sending wi fi...worked on...

Steel reinforced outdoor electrical cable seems to prevent TP Link AV500 from functioning, is this a know issue and any workarounds? Cable run is 25 metres. Many thanks, Jack.
