Hello, could you please provide more information about the current issue?

The powerline environment does affect the performance of the TL-WPA4220; for the environment itself, there is not much we can do. While you can change another socket to plug the TL-WPA4220; and please ensure that the firmware is up to date.

Straight run of out door electrical cable from the garage to a garden room, 25 metres.  Cable is steel reinforced as it is underground.  TP Link can not establish an internet connection.  If i run an extension lead from the same socket in the garage as the cable is connected to the garden room the tp link works fine. The garage has a secondary circuit board but this causes no problems for the TP link either in the garage or if run off an extension lead.  I suspect the steel of the cable is attentuating the signal but just want to confirm this is likely to be the case.  If this is the case can i buy a more powerful TP link to solve the problem?

thanks Kevin.

I've just done a test between an  AV600 in my house and an AV200 in the Garage. The tpPLC utility is showing an interconection speed of 65Mbps. That seems quite respectable considering that the overall path is quite long ie

AV600 --> 32A RIng Main Circuit (20m) ---> Main Fuse Board---> 16A Radial Circuit using 20m armoured cable --> Garage Fuse Baord---> Radial Circuit (20m) --> AV200

So my armoured cable doesn't appear to be causing a problem.  What are the details of the path in your case?  Do your signals have to go through more than 1 Consumer Unit?

Have you got some HF supression devices en route?

Derek

I upgraded the firmware on the main unit that plugs in the router, reset the extender, and voilla it worked....perfect for about 20 minutes then the extender stopped sending wi fi...worked on a direct connect using a lan cable, so it may be a faulty unit that works ok in a perfect environemnt but has problems if signals degrade...will try another extender out there.  Thanks for the help and ideas. Jack.
