How exactly are updates determined for the switches?

I have two switches with MAC addresses of 50:C7.x.x.x.x have updated to the newest 1.2.2 firmware.
All my remaining ones have not and remain at 1.1.0 firmware, both with the older MAC range and the newer 70:4F.x.x.x.x span.

All say 1.0 hardware version in the app even though they are 2.0 printed on the switches themselves.

This seems to be very inconsistent behavior?

This should have nothing to do with tha MAC address. For ones with 1.1.0 you can manually click to search updates

..it shouldn't have but it is entirely possible that their code only currently looks at a certain block of MAC addresses, which I why I am asking.

There is only one way to update...yes...manually...and it doesn't update.

Back to my original Q - what is the deal here?
