Model: TL-WN822N
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

Hi I have the above adapter in windows 10 pro and if I start downloading something at high speed (I have VDSL 50mbps and it max out) the adapter restart and after it turn back on it stop responding and need to unplug it.

I have the latest driver and the adapter is brand new. Any idea what is wrong? Is it defective? Should I return it?

edit: I did noticed elsewhere that another user that had this problem changed the port to usb 3 and it worked. I only have usb 2 so I digged a little bit and all of them use the same AMD chipset 880G for usb, is it possible that the driver of the usb is not supporting windows 10 and this is making trouble?

Hi,

The TL-WN822N V5 supports Windows 10, and there is the official driver for it.

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tl-wn822n/#Driver

You can try to disable the automatic update on Windows 10 and give it a go.

Meanwhile, can you see the adapter under device manager-network adapters after it stops working?

Besides you can change another USB port or computer to do a comparison analysis as well.

May it help and have a nice day.
