Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.12

Hi,

I have a 3 pack of M9Plus V2, and I'm being disappointed for the last couple months, a month ago was shared a beta firmware for V2 (1.2.11) that was good for seeing some M5 features in like : Web UI, See wich devices are connected to wich Deco, manage mesh for devives, see how decos are connected, .......

It gave me a perspective that would be close to release a final version closer to the M5 ....... Installed yesterday the new firware available on the website (1.2.12) and ......

All the new features from the beta (1.2.11) disappeared !!!! what a fallback!

What is wrong with development in TPLINK ? is M9P V2 will ever get close to M5 features ? will be soon ?

I'm really not knowing what to do, already sent an email to the store where I bought to check if I can return this but still no answer ....

Anybody already installed 1.2.12 ? what is your feedback ?

Tks

Francisco

@FNB I think you meant 1.2.13 is worse due to feature loss, 1.2.12 is the beta and 1.2.11 is the firmware you upgraded to .12 :D?

I think they decided to test the extra features you lost further or thought it wasn't stable enough for non-beta update status :o

@FNB

Hello Francisco, as MagicianThing said, the firmware with new features is a beta, not all new features will be added at once on the next firmware.

The current latest firmware does not include these features, instead, it just improves the wifi stability which we mentioned on the release note as well. As you know, it is not necessary to update it if you want to enjoy the new features. And there is no online upgrade notification on the Deco app, we only upload it on the official website. Anyway, considering you have installed it, you can downgrade back to the beta to give it a go.

Good day.

Thanks for your reply.

I totally understand that you want to enjoy the new features with the official firmware, and we attach great importance to it.

We technical support, as a bridge between your end-customers and our RD team, cannot determine when we will release new firmware actually, instead, what we can do is forward your requests to our engineers. We have been keeping touch with our RD colleagues and will push them to speed up.

And we kindly ask your understanding and patience.

Thanks a lot.

on official webpage support there is a new firmware
2020-03-11 16:14:18

@Kevin_Z on official webpage support there is a new firmware issued February 25, 2020. It is posted there for download as valid for my country. The only thing is Deco M9plus V2 has no webpage so there is no way to upgrade other than thorugh Deco app. Meanwhile Android app insists that 1.2.11 is latest, up to date. Is it possible to post firmware for the Android app since there is an officaial newer version?

@Tik

Hello, the firmware issued February 25, 2020 is the first firmware released for the newly made Decos coming off the factory line now. Compared to your current one, there is no new features added, that is why you did not get a notification on Deco app.

And do not worry about that, new firmware with new features added will be pushed for the APP. Then you can update the firmware via the Deco app easily.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z Thank you for your prompt answer. I do not worry at all, it's only about I have two meshes, one with only M5's and one with only M9plus'es and it seems strange that I have more information on M5 than on M9plus. Anyway, both systems work as expected so, all the best for you and your colleagues.

Thanks for your reply.

And yes, the current firmware for Deco M5 is more mature than Deco M9 plus V2. Our engineers are working on it.

The firmware for M9 plus v2 will be released with the new features added.
