RE200 5GHz NOT connecting to Airtel
Unable to connect 5GHz on RE200 to Airtel modem. Airtel does not allow selection of channel. Firmware is updated. What can I do?

@Solla-topee Is this not enough evidence to go back to your engineering team and ask them to support all channels that the routers in India support? Why do you want every customer to disable DFS function? Don't we all know that by disabling DFS and forcing manual channel selection, we are going to degrade network performance due to crowding and noise on the band 1 channels?
How many more customers do you want to see create new threads or update existing threads? When will we get a firmware update?

I am facing the same issue! Just refuses to connect to 5Ghz band on Airtel Broadband. Router is Huawei HG8145V5.
Is there any way to sort this issue and get it to connect and extend the 5Ghz band?
Am extremely disappointed with TP-Link India that you would sell this range extender in India when it is not compatible with a router used widely by the largest broadband service in India. Purchased on Amazon and there is no refund available -- only replacement. What can I do with replacement when the replacement router will show me the same issue!

@Solla-topee Hi all, I was finally about to get the channel changed by Airtel. But it was not of much help.

@Solla-topee : I am facing the same issue. I also have an Airtel Huawei router, and the RE200 does not detect the 5GHz network. It seems to detect other 5GHz networks (of other nearby apartments which are probably not Airtel). I contacted Airtel, and they said that they cannot change the channel to 36 or anything else for optimum performance.
I have even contacted the TP Link customer care, and they were not able to provide any support.
There seems to be a genuine issue with RE200 being able to connect to the Airtel Huawei router on 5GHz, and looking at the numnber of people having this issue, I really think this needs to be looked into on priority by the engineering team.
I had purchased this extender only for the 5GHz (since I already had an old extender for the 2.4 GHz), but this one is now useless.

@MuralidharaRao I had contacted Airtel, and they did not agree to change the channel from Auto. They said that the performance would not be optimal. Also, your earlier comment says that changing the channel did not help. So I'm not sure why you are recommending it. TP Link ought to fix the extender, without needing workarounds.

Hey I am facing the same issue, I checked the SSID is visible. Another 5g connection is visible but it is mine which is not visible, there is no wps button on my Huawei HG8145V5 modem. I even tried resetting but that didn't work as well. Can I be put in touch with someone who can help me with it?
