HS100 Firmware 1.1
I have 2 HS100 v4's that have been working solidly for a while on v1.0.3. According to my smart home these went unavailable over night and now no longer work, they are connected to my wifi but neither my smart home nor the ios kasa app will connect to them.
I tried setting them up again but the ios app only connects if I do a full factory reset, this then works only in the app until I turn the plug off or close the app then it won't connect again.
Can you confirm a firmware release was done? Where are the release notes for this? How do I downgrade to 1.0.3 and prevent auto updates in the future

I have just came back from working away from home for a period to pull my hair out as to why my HS100 plugs were not operating with Alexa.
After the usual resets, app installs etc, I finally stubled across the online subject which lead me to this thread.
So the million dollar question is: How do I downgrade the firmware to get my HS100 plus operational with Alexa ?

I am happy that I found this forum thread. I was about to replace my entire household of switches and outlets from Insteon to local control TP-Link after finding the python-kasa project a few months ago. Disaster avoided!
Has anyone found any modern WiFi based switches and outlets that officially support local area network control with an open protocol?
Cheers!

@Rick123 AFAIK the issue only affects the UK version, as tp-link hasn't pushed that firmware to the US at this point. They were offering a "beta" version of the new firmware at customer request, but as of February 2021 they stopped offering that.
See #56 in this thread, or visit the linked forum topic. It sounds to me like, at present, only the UK hardware is affected, but at some point tp-link will roll this "security enhancement" out to all devices. So...if you want local control that doesn't have to "phone home" in order to "just work," you can buy up a bunch of US-model HS100/110 units before tp-link makes that change.

@MikeP I like the look of the Wemo stuff, seems like a good replacement for the Kasa hardware both aesthetically and functionally. Too bad it's double the cost, but on the plus side, it works locally with the homebridge-platform-wemo plugin, and is HomeKit compatible (which may or may not require an additional bridge, depending on the specific Wemo hardware). So, if tp-link fails to commit to ongoing support of local "no-phoning-home" control of the Kasa product line, it looks like Belkin has us reasonably covered.

Hi all, as a UK user do I have any option to make HS110 (FW 1.1.0) work locally? Or should I be looking at alternatives.

@TP-Link Are you still checking your direct messages for this patch or is there somewhere else I should reach out? I haven't heard back in a few days now.
