Deco X20-DSL and IPTV configuration
Deco X20-DSL and IPTV configuration
Hi,
I've just bought Deco X20-DSL and I try to configure IPTV on it.
But it does not work. I have configuration from provider:
Internet VLAN ID: 35; 802.1Q Tag, priority 0 - this works
IPTV VLAN ID: 838, priority 4 - this also works
IPTV Multicast VLAN ID, ID 839, priority 5 - I do not how to configure this option
Any help?
regards
Grzeniek

Hi, I think just configuring the IPTV/VLAN ID will be enough. Have you noticed any misbehavior when there is no IPTV Multicast VLAN ID so far?
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

VLAN ID: 838: IPTV, DHCP traffic for configuring multicast interface
VLAN ID: 839: IPTV, IGMP traffic and multicast TV canals)

Thanks for the update.
In this way, I might need to follow up on your case by email and consult wth the senior engineers to see whether there is any information we missed.
Please check whether you have got an email from me.
Best regards.

Update:
Hi, @Grzeniek Thanks for your reply. I have checked with the senior engineers Deco does not support configuring different VLAN IDs for IPTV service. And have you used other WiFi routers before which are capable of configuring multiple VLAN IDs for IPTV service?
Best regards.
@mrcoco Hi, Nice to see you again. There are some differences in your cases. Since for your Samsung IPTV service, there is no need to configure IPTV multicast VLAN ID required by IPTV service provider. The IPTV service via smart TV APP is more like a subscription service via Samsung directly, and Deco M9 plus 1.6.0 did not support configuring IPTV multicast VLAN ID either.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Hi,
Of course I've used before other router, the one that provider shared (Sagemcom FunBox 2).
On the other hand, there are othre routers available that enable setting VLAN ID for IPTV, examples are:
- TP-Link Archer C6 (https://emulator.tp-link.com/c6-us-v2/index.html)
- TP-Link Archer AX50 (https://www.tp-link.com/pl/support/faq/1585/)
- DrayTek routers also enable to configure VLAN ID for IPTV

Hi, Deco also supports configuring VLAN ID for IPTV but it does not distinguish IPTV multicast VLAN ID from IPTV VLAN ID. It is quite like,
VLAN ID: 838: IPTV, DHCP traffic for configuring multicast interface
VLAN ID: 838: IPTV, IGMP traffic and multicast TV canals)
The reason I asked for other preferred models is that the engineers explained it was quite rare to use different VLAN IDs for IPTV services. So we can check whether It is a quite common feature that needs to be supported urgently.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.
