ER8411 VPN Client broken
So i have had the new ER8411 for a few days and most things seem to be working ok except a big one is the lack of vpn. Controller will allow you to create a new vpn and configure and even save but it never comes online and the vpn client section in insights is blank.
I assume this is one of many things broken in early firmware for this router but are there any ideas on a time scale for fixes as i have seen someone else report the issue in forum too ?
Hardware will have to be returned if the software is not going to be fixed.
Thanks

Thanks for the info! And thank you for posting that review on Amazon if that was you! Saved me from wasting $$$ on this router as the only reason I was looking at this over the ER605v2 was the throughput capabilities for VPN.
Would like to see an eta or fix as I would purchase it if it was working correctly.

Hi, any progress with your problem? I still have the same problem after 6 months, did you get help from support?

I am still having this issue as well. It is very frustrating and I am almost tempted to move platforms at this rate. I too am wanting to set up a VPN client to a provider like PIA. No luck and have spent hours on this.

Hello all,
I have the same problem as you and clearly found this completely unacceptable for a so called business hardware !
I moved from er605v2 to er8411 only to have a more powerful openvpn, and it's a wreck.
I'm sometimes frustrated that tp link doesn't take into account basic features in omada in their evolutions, but right there, we talk about a huge bug !
Please try to solve it soon !

according to @Fae , R&D seems to have more important things to do so it is not a priority.

Thanks a lot for this information.
The answer of TP Link however seems completely unreal. Maybe they should stop working on new projects and start to fix the broken products that they sold or are still selling.
I am completely shocked by this business behavior

Debating on buying one myself... This new release seems promising.

i've been using it since the day it arrived, it works pretty well, haven't found any bugs except for the OpenVPN/SSL VPN problem which isn't fixed. so run and buy :-) I think the VPN will probably be fixed within a few months.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know about this beta version.
I tried to install it today but the installation failed, I don't know why.
