KD110 stability fixes for Google Nest Home
I recently purchased the KD110 doorbell camera and overall it works well.
The big problem is the Kasa plugin for Google Nest Home Display. It fails to connect about 33% of the time. it is pretty obvious that there is a Kasa plugin there due the the Kasa splash screens before every connection attempt. I get an "Ooops" message and tells me to contact Kasa Support. I have worked with Google support and Kasa support but nothing helps. I even replaced my Deco 9+ mesh routers with more powerfull models but that did not help as well.
The Android Kasa app connects 100% of the time. Amazon Alexa Show connects 100% of the time.
It really got frustrating with Kasa support. The last calls involved requests for me to force the doorbell and Google Nest Home to a specific wifi channel (not 2.4 vs 5 Ghz). I do not know of many home routers that have that capability. It seemed at the end that Kasa support became a firewall between a frustrated user and anyone who was willing to listened to the possability that there was a ploblem on their end.
Also the web site did not recognise the KD110 as a valid model when creating this thread.
In summary I would not recommend using the KD110 doorbell with Google Nest Home at this time.
