Model: Tapo S200B
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi

I am experiencing a delay of a few minutes when pressing the button and toggling a Tapo smart bulb on and off. When it eventually happens (makes the connection) then pressing the button works immediately and works well, BUT if you leave it for a while and press again there is a delay again and you have to wait again. Having the same issue with the motion sensor triggering another bulb

Anyone know why this is happening ?

Rob

  @Centauri

Please check if the device firmware and the Tapo APP are updated. How to update the firmware of Tapo devices in the Tapo App

What's the model of your router? Any network extension devices?

What's the distance between the Tapo devices (hub, bulb, sensor, and button)?

Try to test it under local network (connect to the same wifi as the Tapo devices), see if the problem still occurs.

All Firmware up to date. The Button, sensor, bulb, hub are all in the same room and within a few feet of each other, all connected to the same access point

The router is an Archer C7, and then Wifi distribution through a few EAP235 Wall units

Rebooted everything again. Same issues, delay in triggering, when it does happen then everything works instantly. Ive notice on the history in the Tapo app there is a red exclamation mark beside events where there has been a delay occuring so its clearly registering a problem but no info anywhere on what this error actually is ?
