Hi Tapo, 

So I've moved house and I'm trying to reconnect my bulb to the network. 

I started this process with the 3 switch reconnection step and it got the same response as the 5 switch factory reset; 

I'll also note in the app, it lists only the L530 not the L530e

I've tried everything, turned off BT, mobile data, unplugging the bulb replugging it.... anything I can think of. 

For now its stuck on "unable to find bulb" despite being connected to the bulbs wireless. 

At this point its more painful then any other smart bulb I own and I'm starting to regret this buy.

The model Tapo L530 in the APP is the correct one, don't worry. The E stands for the socket interface, E27.

 

What's the model and OS version of your phone? Try to use a different mobile device to do the configuration. 

 

When you factory reset the light bulb, did it flash 3 times? If not, please refer to the instruction here and try again. How to reset the Tapo smart bulb

Tips: 

1. Pause for 1 second between each OFF and ON.

2. Turn OFF and turn ON bulbs at normal speed, no need to accerlate this process. (e.g. finishing turn off and on in 0.5 seconds)

Hi Wayne, I'm using a pixel 7 pro, which I originally used to setup the device, at this time I lack another phone to test your solution. Is it possible any settings could be causing conflicts?

 

And yes, it flashed 3 times on a factory reset. 

 

Also when going default 3 toggles

I've tried using a Old Pixel 4 XL that hasn't updated in many a few months, also didn't work, tried with another pixel 7 pro as sadly its the only types of phones we have; 

Does the Tapo software offer any other ways to resolve this issue? I know some pairing protocals allow direct connection via IP connection. 

Cos it seems the Tapo app isn't allowing the wireless reset at all

Unfortunately, there are not other setup methods. In your case, I'll recommend contacting the retailer where you bought this device to replace it. Or reach local TP-Link support to proceed warranty.
