Schedule day/night (IR) mode

I'd like to be able to set a schedule for the day/night (IR) mode on my cameras.
As of today I can only choose between AUTO, DAY or NIGHT in the Tapo app.
Under some conditions the cameras don't switch to NIGHT mode because there is a bright light somewhere in the frame. Although the picture is good in DAY
mode even in dim conditions, I've noticed that the image quality increases substantially when forced to NIGHT mode.
Im running the latest updates for the app and the cameras.

@Solla-topee is there a reason we are still waiting for such basic functionality? It's been almost two years and this is one thread of MANY surrounding this topic. Is there even a point of these forums? Seems like a waste of time and false hope

Yep, I'd love to have this feature too. I have two cameras that refuse to switch to night mode automatically since there's a little bit of light available, and it's extremely annoying. Thanks

I have exactly the same issue on my C520WS! There are a ton of threads that the camera doesn't switch to night during night and I have to switch it to night, then back to auto and it holds the whole night. We have a robbery attempt and thanks to that the thief didn't see the camera since the light wasn't turned on for 5 minutes from night to startlight and now I cannot see the face clearly. What is even more confusing, when we got the camera it was working much better and with fw updates it changed to a state where it never switches to night as others describe. Give us an option to schedule it by time or schedule according to timezone's dawn and dusk etc AND/OR to tweak the sensitivity. This is a must have.

Hi
The settings for the auto day and night mode does not suit my requirements as my camera is pointed towards an outdoor area. As there will be some amount light in the frame the night mode does not activate. This also causes certain dark spots of the frame to be non visible in day mode under such situations.
Having a timer for day and night mode I can choose to activate the night mode once the sun sets regardless of the ambient light and activate day mode once the sun rises. I hope this can be considered.
Thanks

If you read this thread from start to finish there are plenty of use case scenarios indicating that a scheduled option should be available in the app.
The AUTO mode just isn't smart enough.
My initial request is thus still valid.
Edit: it's been over two years since I posted this request!
