Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Archer AX55(CA)_V1_1.2.3 Build 20230603

I just bought an AX73 to use as my main router and wanted to use my existing AX55 as a wireless repeater for it, doh! It doesnt have repeater mode.

I see though I should be able to link to it with mesh satellite mode instead?

When I set the AX55 to "Satellite mode" it just resets to factory defaults every time. I tried reverting the firmware to Archer AX55(CA)_V1_1.2.0 Build 20230314 and had the same result so I updated to the latest firmware again and it was the same, it just resets the router to factory and reboots...

The UI shows the timers and everything looks like it went fine but before its even done the router boots back up to defaults.

Any assistance here would be great!

Cheers,

Jon

  @terziyski

Thanks for that!

So they connect after pushing the WPS wifi button on each unit.

Once they are connected you can no longer log into the AX55 which is what the instructions stated.

We had to leave this morning and these are at a second property where we share a starlink with the neibours, will be interesting to see if they connect back up automatically after the power goes out.

Cheers,

Jon

Here's a thread which describes how to connect OneMesh capable router (like AX73) to an EasyMesh capable router (like AX55).

AX55 just needs to be reset to its factory defaults before adding it to the AX73 mesh network.

Thank you very much!

I tried what was suggested (to the best of my understanding) and still no joy.

I posted a followup there.

Cheers,

Jon

You mentioned that AX55 is with "CA"  FW region, what about AX73 - what's the FW region and FW version ?

Did you try to follow this post and check if you can add AX55 to the AX73 Onemesh network ?

Make sure that you're with the latest FW on both AX55 and AX73.

That's correct. Once they are in mesh you'll lose the AX55 web management access.

Its settings would be managed by the AX73 when they are in mesh - that's by design.
