Standalone Win 10/11 app that does not rely on hosting platforms to run (like an Android emulator). Does not have to be feature rich, just be able to see live stream and review stored footage.

  @praxsi

Ladies and gents I have an answer for the PC app problem !

Have a look at the below video please !!!

I have been looking for a way to do this for a while now.

This fellow gives details to install the windows subsystem for Android.

This puts a light weight emulator for android apps on your PC.

It loads fast and is working great so far on my pc at work for viewing my cams at home.

Good luck ! Follow his instructions exactly !

@Helldivex The "solution" you posted does NOT work, and it isn't just me that it doesn't work for. Read the dozens and dozens of comments below the video at YouTube. Failure after failure reported.

The only REAL solution is for Tapo to supply an app which has been written specifically to run on Windows. Until that occurs, I will NOT be recommending Tapo security cams to anyone.

  @praxsi Why not? This is a blatant oversight on customer satisfaction, ease of use and versatility. Just because you think we can receive motion alerts on our phones would superceed this functionality? Suppose we are working on our computer and we hear an alert, we have to our phones, we have turn them on or log into the if the majority of us do not have facial recognition to open our phones instantly but instead we have to laboriously bring up to our field of view, then we have to scroll for the alerts and tap them if we can find them in our feed. If we don't find then we have do multiple taps to open the app, get to right cam, find the alert photos and interact with them. I'm exhausted just explaining it. If you make a desktop app I'll buy more Tapo cameras. I can't believe you guys have not made a desktop app yet instead suggesting 20 minute install of blue stacks or whatever that eat system resources and is a lengthy pain to set up. You guys are fiddling around with WI FI 7 and haven't made a desktop app yet? What wrong with you? Oh I get it,. This will interfere with your revenue model for cloud subscriptions. Of course. Well no more Tapo cams for me then and I have bought several.
