Implemented Cameras - google home / assistant integration not working - FIX BEING ROLLED OUT, SEE UPDATE.

Hi - New Tapo customer here. I just bought a few Tapo outdoor cameras. Specifically the C520WS. Great product, but it does not have proper live feed integration in google home app. Nor can you use Google home to setup automations. This integration exists for other tplink (kasa) product lines.
I'm already using google home app to preview my doorbell (nest) and other cameras (wyze and ring), and I would like my tapo ones in there too. In the Google home app it says "live view stream can't be viewed here".
I purchased these because it was advertised as google assistant integrated. It isn't. The only integration that Tapo has is by saying "okay google show camera on Chromecast". This is not a full integration. We need to be able to view stream and set automations through google home.
Does anyone know if this feature is being developed? Its pretty critical to my smart home setup.
Thank you.

I also use Tapo C200 cameras and thought it had Google Home integration to watch the feed through my watch etc. It may not legally be false advertising, but you know the average customer (including me) doesn't understand what Google Home certification means and whether not passing it means we can view the feed through the app -- but we assume it does. I like the Tapo product but will probably be switching to another service that actually has this feature, too bad.

@Solla-topee I agree with the others. I just installed the D230 doorbell. The fact that it requires a hub and is not yet fully integrated with Google feels like false advertising. While it may be legal, it seems deceptive and only produces distrust among your customers. Every other product I've purchased from TP-Link has been great. This is disappointing.

We are now in April 2025. When will the D235 video feed work with Google Home and iOS? It is advertised to work.

What?!?! How is this even possible? I researched this before buying the C125 and I literally can’t believe this doesn’t work with Google home. Why would anyone want to be able to view their camera on a hub and not their phone. This is outright deceptive. I was going to leave google nest cameras behind, but now I can’t. So annoying.
I'm with you on this one. I thought about moving away from Nest until I came across this thread. I couldn't understand why none of my Tapo cameras could be viewed using Google Home. On the other hand, If I ask the Google Hub to show that camera--it will. This along with the product's inability to share additional setting/options with shared users--is really dampening my enthusiasm for Tapo products. @Evbart

Hi,
The problem may be on the Google side, and you can check if the following article is helpful: What to do if you can't access the camera's live feed on the Google Home App
Best Regards

@Solla-topee I just purchased 2 of the cameras thinking they would be integrated into Google home as well. However I cannot view or record the video footage into my existing account. I will be returning these asap. Thank you for your help and have a great day

got the new C460 kit at it doesn't work either. There simply is no picture in google home. Google app suggest the camera is in battery protection mode.. it is not. When we can't get RTSP or Onvif then at least fix this ongoing problem. Otherwise it is useless.
