Taco light strip group sync-to-sound

I have 3 L-930-5 Light strips in my home. I bought these specifically for the apple homkit compatibility and the sync-to-sound function. However when these light strips are grouped, they do support basic 'effects' but do not support sync-to-sound.
I bought these thinking they would all sync together to the music but this is a huge dissapointment, especially since hardware would support it but the software is lacking.

Yes! I bought 4x tapo L920-5 because you don't get it in 20 meters!
Cloning the app doesn't work to use sync to music on even two devices,
Now I'm thinking I'd need 2-3 different Android phones to use this feature. Such a turnoff.
If the devs could implement this it would be amazing and also opens opportunity to make a good project for people interested. I'm wondering what I can do with these 4x strips because, I bought it specifically for the sync-to-music feature! Now all I feel is just betrayed.
Even Action lights have combined functionality with Amazon Alexa and Google assistants. Why can't we group devices and use this feature?

It sounds like you're referring to a Taco light strip (possibly a smart RGB LED light strip) and you're trying to set up a group sync-to-sound feature — where multiple light strips react to music/sound in sync.
Here’s how to go about it depending on the brand and app used (like Tuya, Smart Life, or a Taco-specific app):
✅ Step-by-Step: Group Sync-to-Sound Setup for Taco Light Strip
1. Confirm App & Compatibility
Make sure you're using the correct app:
-
Taco Smart App (if available)
-
Tuya Smart or Smart Life (most common for rebranded devices)
-
Light strips must support "Music Mode" or "Sound Sync" and grouping
2. Connect All Light Strips to the App
-
Add each Taco light strip to your app.
-
Rename them for easy recognition (e.g.,
TV Strip
,Desk Strip
, etc.).
3. Create a Group
-
In Tuya/Smart Life App:
-
Go to the light strip device in the app.
-
Tap the top right pencil/edit icon.
-
Choose "Create Group".
-
Select the other Taco lights you want to sync.
-
4. Enable “”
-
After creating the group:
-
Open the group device in the app.
-
Tap on "Music" or "Sound Sync" mode.
-
Allow mic access (it uses your phone mic to detect music).
-
All grouped strips should now respond in sync to sound.
-
⚠️ Notes:
-
Group sync may not work perfectly if:
-
Devices are from different brands or chipsets
-
One or more strips don’t support group music sync
-
-
Some apps only allow music sync individually, not in groups.
💡 Alternative:
If the built-in group sync doesn't work:
You can try using a third-party sync app like:
-
LED Hue (Android)
-
HappyLighting
-
Or even control strips via Alexa Routines or Google Home
