Hi! My input with regard to the issued mentioned.

 

I have previously used Netatmo valves, but lacked external temp sensor, was looking at tado but was scared of costs, that's why finally chose Kasa/Tapo solution as a more cost efficient.

 

See 3 functionality issues:

1. Lack of AWAY mode - it was very well realised by Netatmo - AWAY mode could be activated for certain time period or until cancelled - it would pause schedules and use single temp for each valve. Its is manual work with Tapo now. 

 

2. My usual schedule is 20 degrees in bedroom at night and 21 during day - changing 8am and 20 pm, but if I am working from home, I would need 22 degrees in that room - and it is an issue now, that if I manually change temp at 8.30 am to 22, it reverts back to scheduled 21 at 9 am, but I would need to stay 22 until 18 for example... Once again, liked Netatmo approach - each manual adjustment is for specific duration (predefined, but can be adjusted) and pauses schedule during that time. 

I have 4 thermostats now and would love to at them to a fixed low temperature whenever I leave for along weekend. Had a button for that feature with my old system...

I upgraded to kasa with 8 thermostats and need to rethink this. Due to business trips, I am away regularly for 1-2 days, and I don't want to turn on and off smart control for each device. That should be a basic functionality, isn't it?

This would be an excellent feature and easily integrated into Google home. When the home is set to away, put all radiator valves into off mode

Sounds an obvious feature for 'Home' and 'Away' control

I would suggest any group should have the same range of settings/controls as the items within the group to allow 'global control' - eg turn all on/off (which is possible now) or enable/disable smart control, set frost protection temp etc
