Record longer before motion detection events

When using motion detection recording (not continuous recording), the Tapo app records 1~2 seconds before a motion detection event happens. I would the amount of time before the event to be longer, ideally a custom setting for each camera. At the moment I have enabled continuous recording so I can manually rewind a little, this way I get to see what happend before the motion detection event.
In the following recording timeline diagram, the top bar represents how it works at the moment: motion is detected at [1], and recording starts only 1~2 seconds before [1]. The bottom bar shows how I would like this to work: motion is detected at [1], but recording starts at [2], in other words, before the event happens. The time before the event t is specified in the camera settings by the user. To do this, the camera would need to loop-record a few minutes in case motion is detected so that it can recover the footage before the event when required:
Hopefully that makes sense, let me know if something isn't clear. Happy new year!

I returned my Tapo D210. Not being able to see another couple/few seconds was a deal breaker for me.

@TN_tapo Definitely. The only alternative is to have them record 24/7. I tried that and it works, the problem is the SD cards wear out *fast*. Right now I have mine set to record on detection, but it's not ideal. I installed 4 Reolink cameras at my parents' home with an NVR precisely for this reason: I don't want to be climbing up a 4-metre ladder every few months to swap out an SD card. Luckily, my Tapo cameras are installed in places where I can reach them with a small ladder, and my location is quite safe (small town in rural area) so record on motion works for me. But, where my parents live, there are frequent break-ins and I didn't feel confident choosing Tapo for that. Reolink is not perfect but for them it was the "least bad" solution, and so far they are happy with it. Knowing that the only thing that might need changing is a single central hard drive is quite comforting from a maintenance perspective.

The KD210 is battery powered and doesn't allow for 24/7 recording.
I don't think any of their battery or solar cameras allow for continuous recording as of now.

We really need the duration of recording before the person is detected to be in the region of 10-15 seconds.
Other DVR units are able to do this so why not the TAPO.
As I have stated before I really will not recommend anyone purchasing this unit unless this feature is deployed!
