Phenomenon Description

Recently, we received feedback from some customers about the malfunctions on Tapo H100 and Kasa KH100 hub, specifically those running firmware version 1.5.4 and 1.5.5 (Tapo). The hub sometimes became unresponsive to the App control. It might lose connection and be unreachable every few dozen seconds in the ping test.

Potential issues that may arise:

1. Intermittent failures in controlling the hub and its sub-devices.

2. Malfunction of smart action (automation/shortcut) rules associated with the hub and its sub-devices.

3. Anomalies in data recording and uploading for Tapo/Kasa hub's sub-devices, such as data missing in the event logs and temperature sensor's history data /chart.

4. Firmware update failure

Solution

02/04/2024 Update

Relevant optimization has been released on firmware 1.5.6. Please double-check the monitor the connection status of the hub.
