Model: Tapo H200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.3 build 20240604 rel 61598

Hi,

is there a way to sync the video clips stored on the H200 hub with a NAS? Currently, all my clips are being stored on the H200 but I want to be able to back them up on a NAS in case the hub gets stolen after a break-in. It does not matter very much to me if the sync is through ftp, smb, nfs or other methods, as long as there's some kind of synchronization possibility that does NOT include cloud (I do not want to put my home security somewhere on a cloud system that I do not have full and exclusive control over as I've had several cloud providers go awol on me already).

Regards,

JF

  @JF_

This is not a supported feature so far. Your post has been moved to the Feature Request block.

If anyone shares the same thoughts, please vote for this post and leave your comment and usage case (e.g. Type of the local backup, via NAS, FTP, SMB, etc) below.

  @Wayne-TP

syncing protocol: cifs/smb preferably, else ftp or webdav. i would not even mind using a bash script as long as syncs can be done

  @JF_  I agree, any way is good as long as I can link it with my NAS (Synology)

That ll be so good. But don't limit it to only synology, please consider making it generic

Standard file transfer protocols would be great, CIFS, SCP, FTP, NFS etc that supports authentication.

This is such a basic thing that I forgot to check before buying...
Having a ethernet, powered, MicroSD storage device on my network and not being able to back it up with NAS is kinda pathetic, really...

Off to XDA and see if anyone had a go "finding an unofficial way to do it"

It's 2025, the age of not being able to freely get data out of solutions has been proven to be a dead end for tech companies for decades!

Seriously this is really basic stuff here, ANY basic STANDARDISED type of access would suffice! If you allow access to basic things like this you will make money as the ability to interconnect makes it more likely for people to invest in your products!

It's like business learnt long ago an invaluable irreplaceable person or product is a major risk, if you don't play nice with others people will stop buying your products!
