Hi there, is it possible to use Kasa smart dimmer switches to control switched receptacles? Is this a code compliant usage of the smart dimmer switch? If not, is there any plan to cover this scenario in future?

For example, look at Lutron's DDTR and HDTR receptacles. They have a special protrusion which only allows them to be used with Lutron's FDU plug, which prevents you from accidentally plugging any non-dimmable electronics into the receptacle. In this way they achieve code compliance for using dimmer switches together with switched receptacles. However, they are only listed for use with Lutron dimmer switches, but I would prefer to use Kasa dimmer switches. Could TP-link produce such a receptacle for use with your dimmer switches?

Thanks, Shawn

Currently, Kasa smart switches do not have extra outlets. You can follow TP-Link's official website to see if there will be similar new products released in the future.
