Can't connect to L510 again.
It's in a 2 year olds room. Completely unsuitable when the interface for a full reset it turn it off and on again 3 times. So I need to reconnect it to WiFi again, and it can't. It presents the mac appended said, I connect to it, the app says found device, then fails to connect. I've tried all the tips in the app, turned off mobile data and connected through my phones WiFi manager. Tried to set this up with a different device. It just says can't connect. Try again.
Can anyone suggest a light bulb that doesn't forget the WiFi password if you turn it off and on a few times?

Thanks for the reply. I've tried all of those steps, the app reports that it has found the device, it connects to the local WiFi network of the device, but once that is done, it states it cannot connect to the device.
I can't send a screenshot currently, as this is in a toddlers room and they are asleep. I'll attempt this again tomorrow and report back

What's the IP address of this Tapo Smart Bulb wifi?
Make sure your Tapo app is updated. You can try to delete and reinstall the app.
Try to do the setup with another mobile device.

The bulb doesn't have a fixed ip address, it has a 192.168.x.x one that will be assigned by dhcp when it connects to the network, but I can't get that far.
I have tried deleting all app data, which should be similar to a fresh install, but I'll try that.
I've tried setting this up on my wife's phone and a tablet, but to no avail. I have a second WiFi network that I can try to connect this to as well, so I'll report back.
I'm all ears if you think of anything else. I have 16 other tapo devices, 11 of them bulbs and they don't have these issues. (one of the networks is just for iot devices cause they can congest things)

In your case, i would recommend getting a replacement for this device, as the other light bulbs don't have the same problem. You may contact the retailer or local TP-Link support to proceed with the warranty.
