Viewing and controlling Tapo C200 and other devices through Windows, MacOS and Linux
Looking at the forum threads sorted by Most Viewed Posts (see screenshot below) there is a distinct commonality between the top 5 - people are wanting and needing to be able to control, not just view, their TAPO/KASA devices on their PCs, whether Windows, Mac or Linux.
Dear TP-Link, please provide the support your customers deserve by providing suitable software for these platforms. Suggesting the use of third-party software is not acceptable - this supposed "Accepted Solution" for the first post in the list below is not accepted by most of us, otherwise there wouldn't be a further 200+ replies continuing to ask for this software on that thread alone.
If your development team is unable to produce this software, then please make the API specification publicly available for other developers, like myself, to be able to provide such software. There are a number of projects for TAPO devices on GitHub by hobbyists and professionals alike who have had to back-engineer code to be able to access these devices. How much better for the TP-Link users community if an equivalent of the TAPO App were made available for the main PC operating systems, or the API released so that we can do it ourselves.
Please stop saying "Under Consideration" and serve your customers one way or another.
Thank you.
