Model: Tapo S200D  
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.12.0 Build 231121 el.092444

This morning I noticed the android Tapo app updated on my phone. Since then my three smart switches have stopped working.

 

The event log for the switches acknowledges that the switches have been pressed. But the automation log shows that the automation failed.

 

I have tried the following:

 

Rebooted the Tapo Hub

Rebooted the phone

Cleared the app cache

Cleared the app data

Reinstalled the app

Deleted and reinstalled the switch in the app

Recreated the automations to activate the lights.

 

None of the above actions have worked

 

Please advise.

Try to create another automation triggered by a different smart device, or triggered by time, check whether it takes effect.

 

Test whether the Tapo hub that the S200D is connected to can be ringed remotely (e.g. when using cellular data) in the Tapo app.   If not, we need to resolve the remote control failure issue on the smart hub first. You may refer to the suggestions here in case 2 for troubleshooting. Cannot use the Tapo app to control my smart devices

 

Can you share your automation settings here?
