Which firmware you are using without any problems and with 100+ devices connected in home?
Hi there,
This post is only to know if more users are in the same situation as me and how do you solved it.
As the tittle say I have more of 100 devices at home connected to my Wifi.... Alexas, all my light switchs (and are a lot), Smart TV´s, like 10 Eufy cameras, Air Conditionings Controllers, Computers, fridge, etc. and I trusted so much in the TP-link brand and I go ahead to buy the Decos 2 X60 (1 is the principal), 3 X55 and 1 X50-Outdoor, all are connected by ethernet only one X60 and the X50-Outdoor are Wifi.
The connection I had in the beggining was one of the X55 connected to the main router (the one that my internet company installed me), then this X55 connected to a TP-Link TL-SG108 switch and then the rest of the Decos connected to the switch.
All was fine but after a months I saw a lot of intermitence in the internet, the Smart TV´s sometimes didn´t have internet, the Eufy cameras impossible to give me image/video in the App, the A/C controllers were offline, etc. so I was sad and frustrated, I don´t remember what firmware version I had installed like one year ago but my Decos were with the last firmware, so I asked so much support with TP-link and we tested like 3 firmwares but the same until I installed the 1.5.3 version and incredible this one was the only one that fixed all my problems, I put the Decos in AP mode and all worked fine like 5-7 months, the only BIG problem was if I had a power cut everything takes like 1 day to connect it again to the internet, so if I had a power cut then all my eufy cameras hadn´t connection after one day, the A/C controllers too and this was crazy but I could live with that but like 2 months ago now I didn´t receive emails at my cellphone, the whatsap messages too and this is a very big problem because I do home office, the only way to push and receive both was to put my cellphone at Airplane Mode and then all arrive to my cellphone.
So one day I decided to talk this with ChatGPT and he (mine is he hehehe) recommended me to buy and install another Router an ASUS RT-AX86U and put it in DMZ mode with the Main Router Skyworth (because I can´t put in Bridge Mode the Skyworth), then to put a X60 as a principal Deco, connect the ASUS router to the Skyworth router, then the Deco X60 to the ASUS router, then the X60 to the TP-Link switch and finally the rest of the Decos connected to the TP-Link switch, leaving the Decos in AP mode and by magic all was working pretty awesome!!!!
Then I thought maybe now with this configuration I could have all my Decos updated to the last firmware (really if not broken don´t ix it!!! hehe), so I did the upgrade by the APP to the firmware 1.6.1 and then again the problems with my Eufy cameras and AC controllers appears arrrggg!!, so I give a try to the 1.6.7 firmware hoping this one fix my problems, but not, a lot of internet intermitent, disconnection in my Eufy cameras, AC controllers, some other devices a lot of work to connect it to the wifi, etc.
So now I need to return to the 1.5.3 Build 20240523 Rel. 47917 firmware and this post was only to tell you what I suffer, what are my problems and which is the only firmware that worked with me and I really hope that this solve evrything. Which firmware version are you using and is completely working for you?
