S200D worked fine for several weeks.  Then one day it stopped working, and only did so if you pressed the smart button again a while later.  Once woken up it works fine, but after a while goes back to sleep.  This means I can't use it as an on/off switch for my device which requires immediate activation.  Any solutions to keep it on standby, or is it a faulty unit/battery?

What are the specific symptoms of the issue? When the button enters 'sleep mode', do the automated rules it triggers fail to work? Do you need to press it once to 'wake' it up and then press it again (or double-click) for the automation to function correctly?

 

Check the signal strength of the sensor, such connectivity issues may occur if sensor's connection drops. >> Open Tapo app and go to sensor's Device Settings page, click Device Info, Tap the WiFi icon to see the signal strength (RSSI rate).

  • Strong: more than -50 dBm
  • Good to Average: among -70 dBm to -50 dBm
  • Poor: less than -70 dBm

 

You can also change a new battery, see if it helps. **Battery Type: CR2032
