TL-WA850RE - How to create WIFI from Ethernet?

I have N300, TL-WA850RE
The documentation shows how to use it as extender (wifi to wifi).
Yet I need to use it in a place which has ethernet cable from the router.
How to set it?

Hi@YigalB,
Welcome to our community.
For your need, you should set the extender to be an Access Point as Woozle suggested.

@woozle Thank you for the quick reply.
I could do the following:
1- Disconnect my laptop from Wifi
2- connect the extender to the laptop with the Ethernet cable
3- access the management page on browser
4- change the mode into access mode
5- disconnect extender from laptop, and connect it directly to the home router using the ethernet cable
I can see the extender on Wifi and Access it - yet without Internet access.
So something doesn't work well. Any idea?

@YigalB Hi again. Now it is working.
It seems that at first I gave the WiFi network the same name as my home network name.
After changing it in the Thether app to a different name, I can use the wifi from the Ethernet.
Only thing to see if this will work as is from any Ethernet network.
Thank you !

Hi @Sufyan12,
Welcome to our community.
May I know what the model number of your device is? Please refer to
How to find the model number of your TP-Link device
There are different passwords associated with the TP-Link range extenders. If you've forgotten any of them, consider the following scenarios:
Scenario One: Forgot the login password to manage the extender.
1. Try the default login password, which is often "admin".
2. Perform a hard reset on the extender by pressing the reset button until the lights flash briefly.
Scenario Two: Forgot the TP-Link ID password.
1. Open the Tether app and select "Forget Password" on the login screen.
2. Enter the email linked to your TP-Link ID and click "Reset Password," prompting a password reset email to be sent to you.
3. Locate the email in your inbox, open it, and follow the steps to set a new password.
Scenario Three: Forgot the Wi-Fi password for the extender.
1. Once set up, the extender's Wi-Fi password is the same as your router's.
2. Open the Tether App, log into the extender under Devices, and tap Extended Network to view the Wi-Fi password.
3. Reach out to your router's support for the Wi-Fi password.
4. If the router's Wi-Fi password isn't working, hard reset the extender and follow the Tether app's instructions to set it up again.
